New York Post writer and "This American Life" contributor Joselin Linder’s new memoir "The Family Gene" chronicles her discovery that her family is the only one to carry a new genetic disease — and that she may be the next carrier. A compelling story of survival and perseverance, "The Family Gene" is an important story of a young woman reckoning with her father’s death, her own mortality, and her ethical obligations to herself, her family, and society.

Linder discusses her book with "The Moth" Senior Producer Kate Tellers, a regular StorySLAM host and contributor to "The Moth Radio Hour."

A book signing and wine reception follows the discussion.
